Estimator
About the job:
The Estimator prepares accurate project estimates for construction, renovation, and repair projects
by analyzing plans, coordinating with vendors, and supporting successful project execution.
We’re looking for someone who:
● Has 5+ years of experience in construction estimating or a related field
● Demonstrates strong knowledge of construction methods, building materials, and industry
standards
● Can read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project documents
● Has experience preparing labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor cost estimates
● Demonstrates strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills
● Is proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
● Has experience working with CRM or estimating software such as Salesforce (preferred)
● Communicates effectively with customers, vendors, subcontractors, and internal teams
● Has strong organizational skills and can manage multiple estimates simultaneously
● Works independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment
What you’ll do:
● Review project plans, specifications, and design documents to prepare accurate cost
estimates
● Develop labor, material, subcontractor, and equipment budgets for construction projects
● Conduct site visits to evaluate project conditions and identify potential constraints
● Perform value engineering and constructability reviews to optimize project costs
● Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and vendor pricing
● Prepare requests for information (RFIs) to clarify project requirements
● Maintain estimate documentation and track project activity in company systems
● Collaborate with project teams to ensure smooth project handoffs after award
● Build and maintain strong relationships with customers, vendors, and subcontractors
● Monitor estimate progress and communicate project updates to stakeholders
● Support continuous improvement of estimating processes and stay current on industry
