Customer Service Representative
About the job:
The Customer Service Representative supports health plan members and healthcare providers by
handling inquiries related to eligibility, benefits, and claims. This role focuses on delivering
accurate information with empathy and professionalism in a fast-paced environment.
We’re looking for someone who:
● Has an associate degree or equivalent professional experience
● Has 1–3 years of experience in customer service, hospitality, or a call center environment
● Brings at least 3 years of overall customer service or call center experience
● Communicates clearly and professionally, both verbally and in writing, with strong active
listening skills
● Maintains a calm, service-oriented approach when resolving complaints or sensitive issues
● Demonstrates sound judgment, problem-solving ability, and follow-through
● Is comfortable using Microsoft Office, spreadsheets, word processing tools, and standard
computer equipment
● Learns effectively through computer-based and online training
● Shows flexibility, adaptability, and openness when working with diverse customers and teams
● Acts with integrity, accountability, and dependability in daily work
● Builds inclusive relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders
● Is bilingual in Spanish and English (preferred)
What you’ll do:
● Respond to customer inquiries via phone, email, or in person regarding eligibility, benefits,
claims, prior authorizations, and appeals
● Document all customer interactions accurately in the appropriate system
● Educate customers proactively based on their specific questions or concerns
● Provide timely, accurate resolutions and bring issues to closure within required timeframes
● Coordinate appeals and grievances with internal teams
● Support interdepartmental staff as needed to ensure coverage and service continuity
● Perform additional duties and projects as assigned
