Custodial Supervisor

About the job:

The Custodial Supervisor oversees custodial and housekeeping operations, ensuring quality service, proper staffing, efficient workflows, and consistent performance.

We’re looking for someone who:

• Has at least 2 years of recent experience supervising custodial, carpet, housekeeping, or related cleaning employees in a major commercial or government facility
• Has a high school diploma or equivalent and related experience (technical/trade school graduate preferred)
• Has hands-on knowledge of routine nightly and daytime building cleaning services
• Has working knowledge of housekeeping tools and equipment
• Has strong written and verbal communication skills and a customer-service mindset
• Can effectively train, supervise, and coordinate employees
• Can develop efficient work methods and procedures
• Can learn and adapt to technological advances
• Is committed to diversity and inclusivity
• Is bilingual in English and Spanish (preferred)

What you’ll do:

• Supervise the performance and daily operations of housekeeping, custodial, carpet, and related services
• Maintain appropriate skilled staffing levels based on established schedules
• Ensure adherence to quality-control standards and performance benchmarks
• Allocate work responsibilities appropriately among team members
• Train subordinate personnel on their assigned duties and responsibilities
• Develop and implement efficient, cost-effective work methods and procedures
• Coordinate with facilities leadership regarding housekeeping and custodial services
• Assist with developing budgets for labor, materials, equipment, and capital expenditures
• Establish performance standards for each phase of work where practical
• Manage the acquisition, storage, and accountability of operating materials, tools, and equipment
• Prepare required reports and operational summaries
• Meet regularly with team members to review service performance and address deficiencies
• Identify and implement corrective measures when performance issues arise
• Perform additional duties as required and within the scope of the position
