About the job:
The Conformal Coating Technician prepares, masks, coats, cures, and inspects printed circuit board assemblies (PCBAs) to ensure product quality and compliance with manufacturing standards.
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has 1–3 years of experience in electronics manufacturing, PCBA production, or operating chemical coating equipment
- Can read assembly drawings, work instructions, and router travelers
- Understands IPC-A-610, IPC-CC-830, or related quality standards
- Has strong attention to detail and manual dexterity for precision work
- Is comfortable operating automated coating equipment, manual spray systems, and curing ovens
- Follows safety procedures and is able to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including respirators and gloves, when working with chemicals and solvents
- Works well independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
What you’ll do:
- Prepare printed circuit board assemblies for conformal coating by masking sensitive components, connectors, switches, and test points
- Apply and remove masking materials, including tape, dots, and liquid latex
- Set up and operate automated selective coating systems and manual spray equipment
- Operate UV and thermal curing ovens to properly cure coated assemblies
- Inspect completed boards using UV blacklights, microscopes, and other inspection tools to identify coating defects
- Perform touch-ups and rework to correct coating skips, bubbles, voids, or thin coverage
- Clean and maintain coating equipment, including spray nozzles, valves, and ventilation filters
- Follow work instructions, quality standards, and safety procedures throughout the coating process
- Document production activities and communicate quality concerns to supervisors
