Facilities Specialist III
About the job:
The Facilities Specialist 3 independently oversees the operations, maintenance, and improvement of complex buildings to ensure safety, functionality, and a positive occupant experience.
We’re looking for someone who:
● Has experience managing operations, maintenance, and building systems in complex
facilities
● Demonstrates the ability to work independently while coordinating with multiple
stakeholders
● Communicates clearly and effectively with occupants, contractors, and facilities teams
● Has strong analytical skills to identify recurring building issues and implement preventative
solutions
● Is experienced with service request platforms (such as ServiceNow) and tracking systems
● Can oversee vendors, contractors, and service providers to ensure quality work
● Understands fire code requirements and building safety standards
● Is comfortable developing inspection protocols and maintenance programs
● Has experience supporting small construction, lab, or office improvement projects
(preferred)
● Has budgeting experience related to facilities improvements (preferred)
What you’ll do:
● Serve as the primary point of contact for building maintenance, security, contracts, and
occupant communication
● Investigate and resolve building issues reported through ServiceNow, email, or in person
● Advocate for occupants when maintenance work may disrupt operations
● Assess service quality for custodial, elevator, and other contracted services
● Identify and implement building improvements, including small lab and office projects
● Analyze work order trends to reduce recurring maintenance problems
● Develop preventative maintenance procedures and inspection programs
● Perform regular visual inspections of building systems and conditions
● Collaborate with facilities, safety teams, and project management on building initiatives
● Oversee contractors and service providers to ensure projects are completed successfully
● Ensure compliance with fire code requirements and support fire inspections
● Conduct pre-inspections and resolve repeat compliance issues
