PCB Board Assembly Technician
About the job:
The PCB Board Assembly Technician assembles, tests, and troubleshoots printed circuit boards to
ensure quality and functionality. This hands-on role requires precision, soldering expertise, and the
ability to follow detailed technical instructions in a manufacturing environment.
We’re looking for someone who:
● Has a high school diploma or equivalent
● Holds a technical certification or associate degree in electronics or a related field (preferred)
● Has at least 2 years of experience in PCB assembly or a similar electronics role
● Is proficient in soldering and handling electronic components
● Can read and interpret schematics, drawings, and technical documentation
● Has strong attention to detail, manual dexterity, and hand-eye coordination
● Understands ESD precautions and best practices
● Is familiar with IPC-A-610 standards for electronic assemblies
● Demonstrates strong problem-solving skills and works well independently or as part of a team
● Can sit or stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds occasionally
What you’ll do:
● Assemble printed circuit boards using hand tools and automated equipment
● Accurately place and solder electronic components onto PCBs
● Follow detailed assembly instructions, schematics, and diagrams
● Perform visual inspections to identify assembly defects or errors
● Test assembled PCBs using multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other diagnostic tools
● Troubleshoot, rework, and repair faulty or malfunctioning boards
● Ensure compliance with company quality standards and industry requirements
● Maintain accurate records of assembly and testing results
● Collaborate with engineers and technicians to resolve technical issues and suggest process
improvements
● Maintain, calibrate, and properly use assembly equipment
● Keep the work area clean, organized, and compliant with safety requirements
