Operator II
About the job:
The Operator 2 is a hands-on manufacturing role responsible for precision assembly and soldering
of microelectronic products.
We’re looking for someone who:
● Has a high school diploma or GED (some college preferred)
● Brings 1-2 years of experience in soldering or microelectronic assembly
● Demonstrates excellent manual dexterity, hand-eye coordination, and attention to detail
● Can work up to eight hours under a microscope using small hand tools
● Has experience assembling SMT and connectorized products
● Is knowledgeable in manufacturing processes, safety practices, and equipment maintenance
● Communicates effectively with leads, technicians, supervisors, and management
● Works well independently while contributing positively to a team
● Is willing to participate in on-the-job training as needed
What you’ll do:
● Assemble products using soldering irons, microscopes, and small hand and power tools
● Follow assembly drawings, bills of materials, schematics, and work instructions precisely
● Apply epoxy manually using dispensing equipment for staking and die attach
● Perform mechanical assembly and advanced soldering on microelectronic components
● Solder stainless steel housings to gross and non-gross leak standards
● Solder various alloys including leaded, lead-free, and gold-tin
● Perform solder reflow inside housings and onto SMT devices such as QFNs
● Build complex low- and high-frequency RF sub-assemblies
● Assemble diodes, wires, coils, chip components, feedthroughs, pins, ribbons, and coupler pins
● Conduct in-line inspections to identify defects and ensure quality standards are met
● Utilize MES systems to manage tasks and track production
● Meet production output goals while maintaining high quality
● Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area
● Communicate issues, malfunctions, or non-conformances promptly
