About the job:

The CNC Programmer / Set Up Machinist programs, sets up, and operates CNC milling machines
to improve throughput, eliminate bottlenecks, and produce high-precision components in a
fast-paced, high-mix environment.

We’re looking for someone who:

● Has 7+ years of CNC machining experience with a milling focus
● Has 3+ years of CNC programming experience (Mastercam preferred; Gibbs or similar
CAM software acceptable)
● Is able to independently program and set up parts from print with minimal supervision
● Has a strong understanding of GD&T and tight tolerance machining
● Has experience machining complex parts (aerospace preferred)
● Is proficient using inspection tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges
● Demonstrates strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
● Has experience working in low-to-medium volume, fast-paced production environments
(preferred)
● Is familiar with multi-axis machining including 4-axis and 5-axis (preferred)
● Has experience machining materials such as aluminum, stainless steel, and titanium
(preferred)
● Is familiar with ERP systems such as Shopkeeper or Epicor (preferred)
● Meets ITAR requirements as a U.S. Person or otherwise authorized to access controlled
technical data

What you’ll do:

● Program CNC milling machines using Mastercam, Gibbs, or equivalent CAM software
● Perform full machine setup from engineering drawings and 3D models
● Optimize machining processes including tooling selection, feeds/speeds, and cycle times
● Run first articles and support production runs
● Interpret complex drawings and GD&T requirements
● Troubleshoot machining issues and implement corrective actions
● Maintain job travelers, setup sheets, and process documentation
● Collaborate with quality and operations teams to ensure on-time delivery
● Support continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency and reduce scrap
● Assist other machining areas as needed
