About the job:

The Assistant Director of Finance and Operations provides strategic and operational oversight for school-wide finance, facilities, and administrative functions while supporting senior leadership in a fast-paced academic environment.

We’re looking for someone who:
  • Holds a bachelor’s degree
  • Has 0–2 years of relevant experience in finance, operations, administration, or related fields (higher education experience preferred)
  • Demonstrates strong proficiency in Workday, Google Drive/Sheets/Documents, and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Has strong math proficiency and financial analysis skills
  • Is highly organized with strong attention to detail
  • Demonstrates excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Can manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Exercises sound judgment and maintains confidentiality with discretion
  • Is able to develop procedures and improve operational systems independently
  • Demonstrates a strong customer service mindset when working with diverse stakeholders
  • Is committed to fostering an inclusive, collaborative, and service-oriented environment
What you’ll do:
  • Support finance and administrative functions in partnership with senior leadership
  • Oversee contract review and approval processes in coordination with General Counsel
  • Establish and manage systems for contract tracking, fiscal documentation, and compliance
  • Provide oversight and strategic guidance on budget planning, grant management, and fiscal reporting
  • Serve as Cost Center Coordinator and provide financial oversight in Workday
  • Participate in annual budget planning, scenario modeling, and resource allocation analysis
  • Manage daily operations of campus facilities, serving as liaison with Facilities
  • Oversee building condition, renovations, technology upgrades, and event space scheduling
  • Manage access and security systems and ensure policy compliance
  • Lead faculty office assignment processes and collaborate on faculty lifecycle planning
  • Supervise and mentor student workers, including hiring, training, and performance oversight
  • Prepare strategic reports and recommendations for school leadership
  • Develop and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency
  • Maintain accurate finance and operations communications, web presence, and documentation
  • Support emergency facilities requests and resource management as needed
